- I don't believe you when you say you can't drop the prices, dramatically, on medications to treat things like AIDs and cancer, as well as any medication meant to be taken on the long term for conditions like diabetes or even birth control. The people you hurt are the people who need it the most. The rich can afford it, but the majority of the people are not.
And you know why I don't believe you? Because your profits rise 38% once you start making Viagra. You don't get your money from anti-retroviral drugs. You can't. People can't pay for them. There's no money. But every Tom, Dick and Bill O'Rielly will pay a fortune to make their floppy little penises stand erect again, whether or not there's even someone to have sex with.
- Protesters complain the new Ben Stiller movie is offensive and "hateful" towards the stupid. While I know it's going to be a vapid little piece of nothing, does it really deserve this?
- Part of me wants to steal something just so I can do this.
- Isaac Hayes died, which depresses me despite his Scientology. Part of me hoped he would eventually snap out of it and rejoin us here in reality.
- God damnit, do you have idea how many animals are in shelters? Do you know why animals get euthanised in shelters? Aside from certain health problems, generally because there's no one to adopt them. "No kill" shelters sound like a great idea until you realize that they run out of room and have to stop taking in animals and call around to other shelters to "trade." And now you want to start cloning your dogs? This is another one of those where, just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.
- This review is worth reading just to for the phrase "Her solution is for women to exit the bar scene altogether, go home, and attract a loving boyfriend by honing their baking skills. 'Guys will do anything for homemade baked goods,' she chirps." I'll bet you can't guess when this book was written.
- Yes, I know that Absinthe was already technically legal because of something that happened a relatively short time ago (a year or two?) but now the ground rules are laid out. Who wants to go chase the green fairy?
- I absolutely want to see this.
- I'm torn on the issue of illegal immigration. On the one hand, it is illegal. On the other, it's not like it's easy to get into this country if you're not on the pre-approved list. Or rich. Even Jackie had a hard time. He's got mad animation skills AND a job AND he's in school, a completely contributing member of society, and STILL. It's distressing. Some other things are even more distressing though.
- I don't know if it's art but it sure looks like fun to me.
- Ben & Jerry's is trying to win me back from Joe's. Is it working? We'll see. Meanwhile, Izzy's has a Norwegian Chai ice cream that's fabulous.
- This is exactly the reason why British cooking is skirted with a weary eye. You want tips on braising and they accidentally tell you to poison yourself.
- In a battle of Car vs. Bike, hell yes you side with Bike. And since when are bicyclists "eco-terrorists?" Tell me how the hell you figure that you pompous little twit.
- WANT! Seriously, when I own an apartment, this stuff will be everywhere.
- Speaking of art, I like it.
- They found a missing Dumas novel! HOORAY! Yes, I loves me some French melodrama. Who doesn't fantasize about secretly beheading their ex in the middle of a river after discovering she became a spy once her career as a gold-digger was ruined because she was caught stealing from the Church?
I feel I should add some more significant content to this. I finished reading God's Demon and am uncertain about my feelings towards it. I did enjoy it, it was interesting (if a little icky at times) but that was one hell of a Dues Ex Machina.
I have new pairs of jeans. All of them are too long, I have to have them hemmed. Why do people think I'm so tall? I'm really not. I'm brushing just above 5"3 and while I do wear boots with heels in the winter, I'm actually quite small. Please stop adding an extra foot of fabric on the bottoms of my pants.
There's an Arashi meetup in St. Paul this Sunday and I'm going with Brooke. We enjoy Arashi, we'll see if the other fans are worth making friends with. You never know. Either way, I'll probably have some kind of story to tell after all this is done.
Finally, hey
polyclown, I totally read Gasket's blog and because of it, can now remember how you looked with hair.
